About Us
The first of its kind to come to Nova Scotia, On the Grow was originally owned by Christine Wall and Erika Wilson. Opening its doors in January of 2007, and after two and a half years, Christine and Erika decided to move on to pursue family interests. They entrusted us; Nicole Clarke and Donna Williamson to take On the Grow out of its infancy and nurture it into its toddlerhood and beyond.
CoOwner and Operations Manager, Nicole, is a mother of two boys; ages 2 and 6, and CoOwner and Marketing and Finance Manager, Donna, is a mother of three; two girls, ages 6 and 14, and a one year-old boy. We understand first-hand the love, passion, joy and at times; challenges the unique subculture of parent-hood brings.
Professionally, we have over twenty years experience we bring to On the Grow. Donna's strengths are in marketing, management and event planning; both in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. Her most recent position in her 13-year career is as Executive Director for a local community-based agency that provides programs and services to young families. Nicole has ten years experience as a Social Service Provider for at-risk youth and young adults; all in the not-for-profit sector. Nicole's niche was in case management and life skills program facilitation.
On the Grow seems like such a natural fit with our personal and professional lifestyles where we hold a deep passion for empowering children to tune into the fun, creative and capable beings they are. We believe an integral piece to this concept is providing opportunities for parents and caregivers to have their children participate in activities and venues that are socially, personally and physically engaging through active and creative play. We work hard to best meet the needs and interests of our guests. However, we don't pretend to have all the answers. You are our best resource for information.
